Inspired by our discovery of Ella Higginson, Womxn Among Us is an effort to recognize and honor women in our community (a frequent oversight in our history books).
The ephemeral impact women have had on our history books really pisses us off. The larger culture seems to do well at preserving the stories of men, but egregiously fails when it comes to those who do not perpetuate the patriarchy.
So we're starting with the women right here in our community. For the month of March--women's history month--let's talk about the Women Among Us.
Just Like the Men
We are currently in the throes of pre-production on our "Ella" project! We've adapted Ella's original screenplay, weaving it into our modern narrative that tells the story of two women on the hunt for Ella's lost work.
We are currently scheduled to shoot summer of 2018, so stay tuned for more updates!

Crow Talk: film squawk is an exciting journey into the world of podcasting. Every month, crows choose a current film that features a strong female role--acting, writing, directing--and gives three reasons to see it, and three reasons you might want to pass. Check it out for some serious squawking about our favorite thing!
Free The Penis
Some years ago, we started a conversation about the severe lack of din-a-ling in film compared to ladies. What's that about? It really bothered us. So we started talking about it with people knew, and it started to bother them. We kept talking, and talking, until finally, we knew we had to turn the camera on.
And lo! Free The Penis was born!
This short really just scratches the surface (ha). It deserves to be a larger conversation, involving as many view points--particularly outside the gender binary--as we can capture. Adapting Free The Penis in a feature is our next big project. Because it's a problem, and people want to talk about it.
Want to be involved? Have something to say? We want to talk to you!
The official unofficial behind the scenes peak of the ins-and-outs of Talking To Crows from me, the intern. Follow this blog as I divulge my thoughts, opinions, and photos of this crazy experience with this mad bunch of filmmakers.
What to expect: sneak peeks, tidbits, totally relevant memes, and probably selfies (maybe; totally). Basically, I hacked into this website and can do whatever I want.
