As an intern I'm obviously gaining invaluable experience and learning so much about all aspects of running a production company. That basically goes without saying.
BUT there are some pretty sweet bonuses of the job that some of you may not know about.
First of all, I get some pretty sweet freebies from people we work with. Monica Atwood, of Atwood Ales fam, gifted me a lovely farmhouse saison beer and Scout Urling, owner extraordinaire of Flying Bird Botanicals hooked me up with the most amazing green tea called The Village Green.
Working with Cassidy and Stacy means some pretty fun spontaneous side trips when we're traveling around Whatcom County. This means an antique store detour in Lynden or a Mount Vernon Co-op hot bar lunch. Let me tell you, if you're ever down in the good old MV, please go check out their co-op. Maybe just move in there. The hot bar is delish and the upstairs shop has some wacky cool shit.
And a big thank you to Ben from Film Is Truth!! He hooked it up with a swag bag at the Bellingham Film Annual Showcase.
Oh and who doesn't love having work meetings at happy hour?! C'mon. I get to log intern hours while getting a drink at Kombucha Town or Camber and talking future projects with Stacy and Cassidy and other rad people we are working with. Cheers!
